HDR:
I have been experimenting with HDR lately. It fascinates me how the photo almost transforms into a painting through HDR. This particular house was shot in Tuscaloosa, AL sitting between a passing road and the North River Country Club golf course.
How To HDR:
HDR is not hard to do at all. The basic concept is taking three to five exposures at different levels using the shutter speed of a Digital SLR camera while keeping the camera extremely still. Then, using post processing, combine the exposures and adjust the settings to get the effect that you desire. I purposely went overboard in this picture to achieve a more painterly effect.
Below I have included the original pictures that I shot using the Canon 5D Mark II. You will notice the different levels of exposure of each picture. I then combined these in a program called Photomatix Pro and lastly added a few more adjustments using Photoshop and Lightroom.
